Thanksgiving Weekend

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend---I know I did! It's so nice to get some extra days off work. Especially, with a busy Thanksgiving. Between my mom's family, dad's family, and fiance's family dinners it was a whirlwind of traveling and LOTS of eating!

I tried my best to stay on track with my 21 day fix but I'd be lying if I said I didn't indulge a bit. It was worth it! These were my contributions to the festivities!

This cranberry orange cheesecake from Gimme Some Oven was so good! Cheesecake is a chore for sure but always wonderful!

Sticking with the cranberry theme I took this cranberry cream cheese dip to my dad's and it was a hit! It's hard to explain but the cranberry, cilantro, and jalapeno combination was so unique and delicious. Did I mention it's on top of a layer of cream cheese....

I also made this salad and it is always a crowd pleaser.

After all that eating we jumped in the car and traveled to Gatlinburg to do some Black Friday shopping. It was crazy at times but my mom, sister, and I rallied hard until 3 am and got some good deals!

I strictly adhere to the notion that Thanksgiving should have its time and I don't decorate until after Thanksgiving. I understand why some people do but it's just not for me. However, this week I am ready! I picked up these ornaments over the weekend and I'm so ready to hang them.

Have you all started decorating yet?

I spent the rest of the weekend being a slug on the couch, watching Netflix, cuddling my dogs, and working on my post for the upcoming Cookie Exchange this Friday! Don't forget to link up this Friday, December 4th for the Blogger Cookie Exchange hosted by Lindsay and I!

  7. Sounds like a great Thanksgiving!! Totally with you on not decorating until after Thanksgiving. I like to do one holiday at a time. I shop for presents early but I can't handle early decorations :)

  9. I decorated on Friday... I couldn't wait any longer haha! Although in my defense I'm out of town this Wed through next Mon so if I didn't do it then I wouldn't do it until the second weekend of Dec and that's too late ;)

  10. I put up 2 trees before because I couldn't resist. I said I was going to wait until yesterday to do the rest, but after all our guests left on Thanksgiving I got right to it, haha. I have an 11 day stretch until my next day off and know I won't have the energy anytime soon- so I did it then. I'm so excited you got a Starbucks mug ornament!

  11. Everything you made looks delicious! Definitely a notch above my baking skills, which usually consist of boxed brownies hahaha.

  12. Look at all that yummy food! And I'm with you on the Christmas decorating waiting until after Thanksgiving. It's not easy to wait when I see Christmas popping up everywhere, but there's more than enough time to enjoy the decor and music between Thanksgiving and New Year's <3

  13. Your dip sounds amazing!! I hate not being able to decorate this past weekend - we had to do it the previous so it would be up when we got home. I already begged my husband to come home by Friday next year to have time to decorate when it should be done!

  14. Your contributions look amazing! I indulged way too much this weekend... why my sister decided to get married the week after Thanksgiving is beyond me! We didn't do any shopping but I have spent a million dollars during Cyber Monday! Glad you had a great long weekend!

  20. I totally agree about not decorating until after Thanksgiving. My rule is that the Christmas season doesn't start until Santa appears at the end of the Macy's parade :)
