Work Week Chic: Cropped

Unofficially, this is our last week of summer. I drift between being ready to bust out all the scarves and boots to having a serious case of summertime sadness. But, if you live in the Southeast you know that we have several weeks if not a month of heat and humidity in front of us.

The key to a well built wardrobe is versatility--especially when it comes to your workwear. I very rarely buy a piece that I can't fit into my work and after hours life. I bought this Banana Republic eyelet crop top a few weeks ago during a major sale and have been toying around with how to make it office aprop.  How do you wear a crop top to work? Let me show you the way my friends.

Layering a unique or "statement piece" such as this crop with a classic type button up creates the perfect professional, yet stylish look. It also allows you to get double duty out of your summer clothes during this awkward in between seasons phase that we're going through.

I'm wearing a Peter Pan collared shirt with contrasting color on the collar and cuff but any button up will also look great!

  6. I love that top! I also have to say that I love your eye makeup. What kind of mascara do you use?

  7. I love the crop and it looks thinner than a cardigan, so kudos for the softer layering even in states like Louisiana where we probably won't see cooler temps/humidity until the middle or end of October!

  14. Love the layers! Perfect for the crazy up and down weather to come! Okay, I was thinking of joining in but couldn't figure out how to get the pictures taken. I need a photographer! I fear my almost 5 year old may not do the best work, but we just may try. :)

  16. Darling outfit -- for work wear you have to wear tons of layers! I swear my office is either 65 degrees or 75 degrees, there is no good middle ground around here! This is a great outfit! :)
