5 on Friday

Another edition of 5 on Friday! I really enjoy these posts each week because I can share tid bits of things that I like or going on in my life whereas my normal posts are curated around a specific topic. I hope you all enjoy them half as much as I like writing them!

As always, I'm linking up with High 5 for FridayMeet@TheBarre, and Carolina Charm.

One. Arbonne Review

Have you all heard of Arbonne? I hadn't until several months ago when a close friend hosted a party at her house. I was unable to attend but she has been raving about the products ever since. Needless to say, I was so excited when Lisa, an independent Arbonne consultant, contacted me and wanted to send me some products to try! Arbonne is based upon the principals of "pure safe and beneficial". What more could you ask for? As I'm getting older I'm starting to care more about what I put on my body and especially my skin. The natural ingredients of Arbonne are what initially attracted me to the product. However, now after trying it I love it for many more reasons.

Lisa kindly sent me a sample pack of the FC5 product line that is designed to maintain healthy skin with fresh cells from 5 different fruits and vegetables. Based upon my age she picked this set out for me. It included a cleanser, moisturizing night creme, day lotion, and eye creme. The first thing I noticed was how lovely and fresh they smell. There's nothing worse than getting a headache or smelling my products all day long on my face. The other thing that struck me about the products was how light they felt on my skin. I'm not a fan of creamy products and much prefer more gel based ones like these.

If any of you would like to try out the products, Lisa is offering 20-40% off for Lady Lawyer readers--email her at singandrejoice2@gmail.com for more info!

Two. Labor Day.

Who else is ready for Labor Day? Me, me, me. I will be heading to sunny Hilton Head for the weekend and couldn't be more excited. I've never been so please send all food, bar, and fun recommendations my way

Three. Fall Shoes

Although it is still very hot and humid here in Kentucky it seems that Fall is all around us. I'm loving all the posts of Fall clothes and shoes I've been seeing. I seriously want everything. To keep myself in check I came up with a Fall Wish List last week. These Sole Society pumps were top of my list and I had to pull the trigger on them so I could get the most wear out of them. I'm obsessed with everything in this deep wine color for Fall. What's on your Fall wish list?

Four. Book Suggestion

I just finished the best book last night and have to share it with you all! The Good Girl by Mary Kubica. If you love a good suspense story this is it. It reminded me a lot of Gone Girl. It's one of those books that leaves you with an uneasy feeling. I'm not going to lie after I finished last night before bed I may have kept my lamp on a little more than necessary. I highly recommend it! Keep up with all my reading and follow me on Goodreads

Five. Week Recap and Blogger Love

In case you missed it I kicked off my first week of Work Week Chic with this amazing emerald green dress! Remember to post your work outfits of the day under #MyOfficeChic, follow me on Instagram, and I'll be featuring some looks under the hashtag every week on IG and the blog!

Ok--enough about myself! One of my favorite parts about blogging is connecting and reading other blog posts. There are so many amazing and intelligent women out there like fellow KY girl Lindsay from Bourbon, Lipstick, and Stilettos (who I got to meet up with IRL a few weeks ago!). Her post this week on "What are we Teaching Our Girls" is so poignant as it relates to The Ashley Madison scandal and the Duggar fiasco. It's a must read.

If you're like me and splurged to get a DSLR camera and took it out of the box and realized you're completely lost---this post from Nina@Wear Flowers in Your Hair is for you! She goes over the bare basics of learning what all those buttons are on your camera with Photography 101: So You Have a DSLR, Now What?

Have a great weekend friends!

  5. So what do you think about the shoes? I've ordered accessories from Sole Society but never shoes! They always seem to sell out of my size before I have a chance! And thank you for sharing my post!

  16. We just got back from a week at Hilton Head, you are going to have so much fun! The Lucky Rooster is a relatively new restaurant that's good. And if you like ice cream/gelato/etc. there is a Rita's, as well as a couple of Gelato locations called "Pinot Gelato" that are really good!
