Stitch Fix Review I

While this is my first official Stitch Fix post, according to my latest invoice this is my 11th fix. Until this most recent fix I had been on a hiatus for about 3 months after a couple of underwhelming boxes. However, with the seasons changing and a friend recently sharing that she got an awesome fix I decided to give it another go!

Most of you are likely familiar with Stitch Fix but here's a blurb if not..basically it's a personalized styling service that delivers a box to your door with 4-5 curated clothing and accessory items. You pay $20 a month for the styling fee (which is credited towards your account to spend on items!) and get to try on and return any items you don't want. The concept is genius and I'm still pretty bitter I didn't come up with it. The best part for me is that it pushes me outside of my comfort zone of what I would normally pick out if I were shopping.

1. 41Hawthorn Rosa Tab Sleeve V-neck blouse: RETURNED
I really liked the tangerine color of this blouse but it was honestly very similar to a top I already have and I just wasn't wowed by it.

 2. Collective Concepts Delanie Elastic Waist Dress: RETURNED
I am never a big fan of dresses with a dramatic elastic waist. I always feel like I'm having to pull it down and adjust. Plus, it was a little on the short side so I couldn't wear it to work. Please notice the chihuahua butt in the bottom right corner (likely pissing all over the carpet)!

3. 41Hawthorn Montreal Arrow Printed Henley: RETURNED
Eh..my only feeling towards this top. The arrow pattern was cute but it was too sheer to not wear a cami underneath.

 4. Pixley Bixby Bird Print Tab Sleeved Blouse: KEPT
No, you're not seeing things...this looks so similar to the previous tops. I was a little surprised and disappointed that they basically sent me 3 shirts that are the same style. However, I liked this one the best and can see wearing it to work and maybe with some leggings or skinny jeans off hours. Normally, I probably wouldn't have bought it but with my $20 styling fee credit I thought it was worth the $24 I ended up spending on it.

5. Romolo Sheridan Enamel Circle necklace: RETURNED
The colors in this necklace are so cute and would go with so many things but it would not lay flat. Every inch I moved the pieces would turn over and I knew it would drive me insane to wear. So back it goes.

Clearly, I have had better fixes. I was mostly disappointed because I felt like I got 3 tops that were the exact same style just slightly different.

  1. I like what you kept! I got the same shirt as your first pic... I kept it. So my last box was the bomb! I was very specific in my stylist note and she delivered. I also started a board on Pinterest and pin from their links. I highly suggest that route!

I just received my 3rd box from them and kept some cute jeans and a shirt...my husband cringes every time these boxes come to my door LOLOLOL

  8. I love the bird and arrow top - but I agree, you don't need both. The more I comment, the better my items are! And I've actually gotten things I pin - be sure to follow Stitch Fix on Pinterest, pin what you like and you might get that exact item.

  10. I just got my 7th fix and this was the first box I loved and kept everything! I love the top you kept and I hate when they send the same style shirts. In my box they sent all tanks but I was OK with it because I needed dressier tanks!

  17. Katie from Cup of Tea (www.ktcupoftea.com) does Stitch Fix as well. I feel like her mix was much better than yours. I'm surprised at overall neutral colors they sent, being that it's almost summer.

  18. It sounds like too much hassle for me. I'd rather just pick out my own things, especially since that's half the fun!

  19. I think you made the right decisions about what to keep and what to return. I have to say though, you should find more tops in that tangerine color because it looks fantastic on you!
